I couldn’t have been more honored to photograph this Wellington family photography session. There is a special place in my heart for this family. I met Julia when I was just 5 days postpartum with my first child, Ben. Julia and I were both walking in to Wellington Regional Medical Center for their weekly lactation support group. I noticed Julia also had a tiny baby with her. Her daughter, Eva, was born only 13 days before Ben. I will forever be grateful that Julia and I swapped phone numbers, because if there is ever a time that a mom needs support, it is during those first few months of motherhood.
I can’t count how many text messages we exchanged while we were both awake during late night feedings. As our babies grew older we began to take our little ones on outings for coffee, music classes (plug: Miss Amy’s Music is amazing!), baby yoga classes, and library story times. Since then, Julia has had another adorable child, Tristan.
When Julia mentioned to me that she wanted family photos taken, I couldn’t have been more excited! Julia’s niece, Kylie, even joined in on the photo fun. And the entire session their two whippets were making sure they made it in the frame, too. This family photography session was full of energy, which was perfectly fitting for their family. Julia and Tom are both incredible triathletes who compete in all sorts of races each year. Also, the high energy session made for some incredible action shots. At the end of the session, I was able to take a few solo photos of Julia and Tom. Check out that gorgeous light…and check out the dog’s incredible photobomb.
